Insights from Two Management Trainees at Makro: From Young Sprouts to Flourishing Leaders

The Management Trainee program at Makro offers fresh graduates the opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals through hands-on experience. It allows individuals to grow through four levels: from junior to small sprout, medium sprout, and ultimately, a mature leader. Today, we have 'Nun-Punyanasa Jeranpon' and 'Pree-Nattaya Kittichawangchot' sharing their success stories, from being young sprouts to flourishing leaders.

Q: What motivated you to join this program initially?

"Nun-Punyanasa: At the time, I saw this program as a chance for new graduates to try their hand at various roles. We could learn, work, and solve real problems. I wanted to develop and grow with Makro, a leading business entity.”

Q: As a young sprout, what did you learn?

"Pree-Nattaya: I took charge from the very beginning, from strategizing to meeting customers, taking orders, managing products, handling logistics, and even being a cashier. It was liberating to plan, execute, make mistakes, and ultimately succeed.”

Q: How has your role as a small sprout differed from your early days?

"Nun-Punyanasa: Now, I oversee a broader range of tasks, especially internal processes. If I see areas that need improvement, I can experiment to enhance the efficiency of all departments. Additionally, I've honed my people management skills.”

Q: Could you share the key factors that have helped you grow from a small sprout to where you are now?

"Pree-Nattaya: Determination, focus, and clear goals for self-improvement were crucial. We worked wholeheartedly, proving ourselves through our achievements and earning recognition within the organization. Currently, I'm learning the art of business analysis on a larger scale.”

Q: After nearly two years as a Management Trainee, what do you feel you've gained from this program?

"Nun-Punyanasa: We've experienced rapid growth, learned multidisciplinary skills, and pushed our personal boundaries. We've also discovered abilities within ourselves that we never knew existed. We truly understand what it means to be a 'young sprout.”
